2015 Toronto Ukrainian Festival
No better way to spend a day than in Bloor West Village for the 2015 Toronto Ukrainian Festival!
As some of you know, I’m Ukrainian on both sides of my family. My parents were born in Canada however my grandparents came from the old country, and when my siblings and I were growing up we spent a lot of time with our grandparents who loved to babysit us whenever they could and stuffing us with the finest homemade Ukrainian foods. So to finally not have a conflicting schedule with the festival and be able to spend a day taking photos it was a blast to head out, snap some photos, have my fill (and everybody else’s. haha) of perogies, and even ran into some friends I used to go to grade school with at St Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic School.
The only regret I have from this weekend was not making it out to the festival earlier, but I’m still really happy to have made it out and caught some great acts, food, and photos. I couldn’t find the performance schedule however I believe the acts I managed to snap some shots of were The Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, ZIRKA, and Boyovyy Hopak.
SLAVA UKRAINI!
