What goes up, must come down! Documenting a crane removal in Toronto.
Living in the fastest growing city in North America I always see crane parts being moved around the city on transport trailers, however it’s not until a site visit for Fitzrovia Real Estate that I watched (and documented) one of the approximately 124 cranes in Toronto be removed as a phase of construction for the new Liberty House building in Liberty Village.

Needless to say that was a cool experience, one of a few that I’ve had recently that I’ll post more about such as the recent demolition of a hotel across from Yorkdale mall which is slated to become a multi tower build, or the new build site at Queen Street East just east of Church Street where I was standing what must have been 5 floors below street level in a pit. It all started with getting to document and create assets for The Waverley project in 2020, and in 2021 I’ve been visiting and documenting more build sites and I’m really looking forward to sharing the experience through my lens.
