We #StandWithUkraine Portrait Studio Pop-up Event
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine raging on there is a great need for help for those impacted and displaced, and so I connected with a few fellow photographers in Toronto and some other friends to help me with organizing an event to raise funds we could then donate to charities. After having a lot of requests to shoot portraits for clients, I decided portraits would be a great way to raise funds, awareness, and get people an updated profile photo for their LinkedIn, social media accounts, or even to have them printed as a family photo.

Our first event which was held at 48 Yonge St raised over $4000 which we evenly divided among Global Medic, Come Back Alive and the Canada Ukraine Foundation. These three organizations have been addressing the needs of Ukrainians who are displayed and fleeing Ukraine, those still in Ukraine, and those fighting for the freedom of Ukraine, and so it was felt that this was the best well-rounded approach to distributing the funds we collected and having them help the most amount of people possible.
After having received a great response both from attendees and a few messages from those who missed out on our first weekend, we decided to have another round of events this coming weekend at our downtown Toronto location.
